Privacy Policy

Effective date: January 1, 2025

FutureMailer.com ("we," "our," or "the service") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and what we will never do with it.

What we collect

When you use FutureMailer, we collect only what is necessary to deliver the service:

We do not collect your name, phone number, payment information, location, or any other personal data beyond what is listed above.

How your data is stored

Encryption at rest: Your email address and message content (title and body) are encrypted in our database using symmetric encryption. They are decrypted only at the moment a message is sent, then discarded from memory.

Email hashing: For database lookups, we also store a one-way SHA-256 hash of your email address. This hash cannot be reversed to reveal your email address.

No plaintext storage: At no point is your unencrypted email address or message content written to unprotected storage or logs.

How we use your data

Your data is used exclusively to operate the reminder service:

What we will never do

We will never:

The only emails you will receive from FutureMailer are the reminders you scheduled, verification emails for those entries, and account-related emails (password reset, account verification).

Cookies

FutureMailer uses a single session cookie (fm_user) to keep you logged in. This cookie contains only a cryptographic identifier. It does not track you across other sites and is not shared with any third party.

No advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics scripts are present on the service.

Third-party services

FutureMailer displays ads served by Google AdSense. Google may set cookies in accordance with its own privacy policy. We do not share your FutureMailer data (email address, messages, or account information) with Google or any other advertiser.

Data retention

Sent reminders (status: Sent) remain in the database for record-keeping and are not actively displayed or used. Canceled reminders are similarly retained but inactive. You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us.

Children's privacy

FutureMailer is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has submitted data to the service, contact us and we will remove it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service evolves. Material changes will be noted with a new effective date. Continued use of the service after a policy change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
